The 2020 Election Ballot included three potential bylaw changes that have all been approved by the full Board of Directors of the Macalester-Groveland Community Council to be placed on a ballot for consideration by the Macalester-Groveland community at large.
Approved bylaw changes are those that receive a “yes” vote by the majority of Macalester-Groveland community members who vote, and will go into effect on August 28th, 2020. Unapproved bylaw changes are those that receive a “no” vote by the majority of Macalester-Groveland community members who vote and will not go into effect.

Proposed Bylaw Change #2 (Article VII Section 1 and Article XII):
This would allow the Board of Directors to (1) postpone the Annual Membership Meeting beyond March/April if deemed necessary and host the Annual Membership Meeting in either a physical or online venue, and (2) give the Board of Directors the emergency power to enact temporary amendments and changes to the bylaws, which would expire at the next Annual Membership meeting, unless approved by the community at-large.
Proposed Bylaw Change #3 (Article V Section 3):
This would add additional items to the list of powers held by the MGCC Board of Directors, including (1) the power to establish and revise remote participation policies and procedures, and (2) the power to establish and revise policies and procedures for actions without* a meeting of the Board of Directors and its committees.

Unapproved Bylaw Changes
Proposed Bylaw Change #1 (Article IV Section 2):
This would change the age of community members (residential members and organizational members) who are entitled to run for board seats and vote for board candidates for which they are eligible from 18 years of age or older to 16 years of age or older.
