A Message From the Macalester-Groveland Community Council

Dear Macalester-Groveland Neighbors,

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the tragedy that occurred last week in Minneapolis and how it is impacting Macalester-Groveland. As a community council, we are actively fostering a neighborhood where every resident feels safe, understood, respected, and supported. We recognize that recent immigration enforcement actions have created fear and anxiety within our community, resulting in:

•Students not attending school 

•Macalester-Groveland businesses reducing hours or temporarily closing

• Employees not reporting to work at neighborhood businesses

• Residents remaining at home out of fear

Please know that you are not alone—we are here to support you and will adapt as we learn more. Below, we have gathered resources from organizations doing meaningful and impactful work in our neighborhood and throughout the greater Twin Cities. We encourage you to review these resources, share them with others, and learn how to become engaged. 

Our community is strong because of the many individuals and families who make Mac-Grove a wonderful place to learn, eat, work, live, play, and worship.
