What are the Alley Garden Awards?
MGCC’s Alley Garden Award Program kicks off in mid-July and will recognize those who contribute to making our neighborhood more beautiful, clean and safe by establishing an alley-side garden. Gardeners in Mac-Groveland have been recognized for their alley gardening efforts since 1990. A colorful, well cared for and creative alley garden can have a powerful, positive impact.
What do I need to do to get an award?
No nominations are necessary to win an award. Judges will walk every alley in the neighborhood beginning July 14th and ending on July 24th. Keep your alley-side property looking great during this week! Awarded gardens can range from a couple planted pots to a few perennials/annuals to a full native planting prairie!
